
Aliwaaaaaaaaan… Fiesta! – this is what you will always hear once the speakers turn on just outside Aliw theater, accompanied with upbeat festival music, drumbeats, occasional news breaks, and typical Filipino advertisements.
Walking through the streets of Vicente Sotto, or around the festival area during Aliwan week will constantly remind you of the major events you shouldn’t miss, the eclectic food choices, and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
I personally love celebrations and festivals, specially the ones celebrated in The Philippines. That’s why I made it a point not to miss the Street Dance Competition at Aliwan Fiesta 2019. I recorded all performances to share them with everyone:

Pasaka Festival – Tanauan, Leyte
Result: Champion
Buraburon Festival – Barauen, Leyte
Result: 2nd Place, Best in Music, Best in Costume
Manggahan Festival – Island Province of Guimaras
Result: 3rd Place
Meguyaya Festival – Upi, Maguindanao
Result: 4th Place
Niyogyugan Festival – Quezon Province
Result: 5th Place
Bodong Festival – Pinukpuk, Kalinga
Result: Runner Up, Pride of Place Award for Best Folkloric Dance
Tarakuku Festival – Mother Kabuntalan, Maguindanao
Result: Runner Up
Panagbenga Festival – Baguio City, Benguet
Result: Runner Up
Halamanan Festival – Guiguinto, Bulacan
Result: Runner Up
Maytime Festival – Antipolo City, Rizal
Result: Runner Up
Sambalilo Festival – Cavinti, Laguna
Result: No Award
