If you’re into golden-brown-deep-fried-crunchy-goodness of Tonkatsu, as well as authentic Japanese cooking, you’re in luck! head over to Sgt. Esguerra in Quezon City and make sure to come with friends or family with an empty stomach and heavy appetite, because Fumizen will make sure all those cravings are satisfied.
Fumizen is a long-established restaurant in the New Otani Hotel, Tokyo serving high-quality tonkatsu (deep-fried breaded pork cutlets) and Japanese cuisine.
So what’s unique with Fumizen?
Aside from Premium Ingredients primarily sourced from Japan and warm customer service, Fumizen maintains its reputation and prestige by paying special attention to RICE, QUALITY & TRADITION. All that to give all guests a superb dining experience. Even their breadcrumbs taste good!

Ever heard of truffle salt? seen one or tried one? to be honest, I don’t really know the taste of “real truffles” because every truffle-based-dish I’ve had in Manila, if not truffle powder, truffle oil is used – which is, most of the time, not made from real truffles. Fumizen prides to use the real ones (as a dip – but not refillable sad), so all of you there reading this and curious, make sure you come and visit! sorry I wasn’t able to take a photo of their salt because I was too excited to try it 🙂 lol
Fumizen uses good quality pork sourced directly from Japan! the Satsuma black pig from Kagoshima-ken, and the premium-grade Royal LWD Sangenton pig from Chiba-ken. Fumizen also offers Japanese liquor— from beer to sake, fruit liquors, wines, and Shochu cocktails. They also have sodas and tea for those who don’t drink alcohol.
With over 40 years of experience in Japan, Fumizen is still a favorite go-to choice for Japanese celebrities, politicians and even athletes. But the restaurant doesn’t let this fame go over their head, no special treatments – everyone’s treated equally.
Fumizen Japanese Restaurant will be on soft opening the last few days of December – cash basis only. For more information, updates on their menu and promos, please contact Fumizen directly using the contact information you can find below. Lastly, I’d like to thank Foodmnl Studios for the generous invite 🙂
